The S.T.E.P.S. Center, (Support. Teach. Empower. Promote. Services.) is a community behavior management day program. We specialize in working with adults age 18+ with developmental disabilities in the Los Angeles County area. We provide supports for people who want to become positive active members in their communities by learning / improving skills such as positive interactions when frustrated, coping skills, safety, independent skills, self-advocacy, work skills, healthy relationships and many other skills that contribute to us living meaningful lives. At S.T.E.P.S. we understand that behavior serves as a means to communicate frustrations and if we listen and support people then those behaviors will naturally reduce over time. We do this by applying person-centered practices (PCT), positive behavior supports (PBS) and following individualized intervention plans developed by our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
