The S.T.E.P.S. Center, (Support. Teach. Empower. Promote. Services.) is a community behavior management day program. We specialize in working with adults age 18+ with developmental disabilities in the Los Angeles County area. We provide supports for people who want to become positive active members in their communities by learning / improving skills such as positive interactions when frustrated, coping skills, safety, independent skills, self-advocacy, work skills, healthy relationships and many other skills that contribute to us living meaningful lives. At S.T.E.P.S. we understand that behavior serves as a means to communicate frustrations and if we listen and support people then those behaviors will naturally reduce over time. We do this by applying person centered practices (PCT), positive behavior supports (PBS) and following individualized intervention plans developed by our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
S.T.E.P.S. is certified by The Learning Community to provide Person-Centered Thinking (PCT) training to its staff and outside organizations. To ensure staff understand the significance of being person-centered, all staff members receive PCT training as part of their onboarding process and continuous training.
Interested in attending or receiving PCT training for your home or organization? Contact us today to learn more.

My daughter has been exited from multiple programs because of her behaviors. S.T.E.P.S. was the only program that would accept her. Now that she’s attending S.T.E.P.S. she looks forward going to program every day. Her behaviors have gone down so much.

My niece is so happy. At the last program, the staff were afraid of her. She’s so polite now. I love that.
